And while all five shows had their redeeming qualities (James Earl Jones - Green Day - Tennessee Williams), the two standouts were Good People with Francis McDormand (!) and La Cage Aux Folles with Jeffrey Tambor (!) and Harvey Fierstein (!!).
I blame my mother for my theater appreciation — we used to listen to the soundtrack to A Chorus Line on the way to kindergarten. I’m starting to think not everyone belted out “At the Ballet” every morning.
